Lyrical/Contemporary

Contemporary is a popular form of dance which developed during the middle century and has since grown to become one of the dominating performance genres.  Borrowing from classical, modern and Jazz styles.  These arts require ballet training for at least 1 year & Jazz 1 year before they should be taken by a dancer.  Dancers that have taken the set standard to enter this class will love this style since it is more expressive with free flow movement.  Contemporary encourages good technique training. This art form gives you the freedom to tell a story and express yourself by using music and movement.  These arts have fewer restrictions than Ballet. We encourage dancers to be individuals in this class. Student choreography is part of the curriculum for the more advanced dancers.  We have 3 levels of Contemporary, Beginner 1-3 years of training, Intermediate 4-6 years of training and Advanced 7 + years of training.  All dancers must meet the standard set by the studio before they may move up to a higher level.
